We celebrate both Chanukah & Christmas in our home. Tonight's the first night of Chanukah, and the hubby decided to deck out the first night with great stuff.

I got: Son Of Stitch ‘n Bitch: 45 Projects To Knit And Crochet For Men

- and a gift certificate to Robyn's Nest. So damn excited about that one. I want some Claudia Handpainted and a Sock Club kit. I think that's what I shall get myself!

OH HAPPY CHANUKAH! I can't wait to see what Xmas has in store!!!!

Don't Think It's Happened Yet

Sorry I have not written anything recently. I just haven't been in the mood to write and I'm trying not to think about getting pregnant or obsess about it too much. I don't think anything happened this month because we went on vacation the week of my ovulation, which would have been perfect timing but my brother was with us as well so we had very limited opportunities to do anything.

We tried to "you know" on a couple of occasions but it was very distracting having my brother sleep in the next bed and trying to be super quiet (very awkward, believe me) so we sort of gave up, it just didn't feel right. Plus, we were in Vegas (one of my favorite places) and we were doing stuff non-stop during the day so by the time we got to our room early in the morning we were happy to go to sleep. I think I'm sort of trying to find excuses why I'm not getting pregnant, but this month I would have to really be pushing it to get enough action while being in the same room as my brother so mentally I gave up. My brother is going back home today so starting tomorrow it will be just me and my hubby in the adult department in our house.

I'm definitely going to miss my brother. We live far away from each other so I usually only see him for a a few weeks every year and it was nice to spend more time and do thing together once in a while. It was a difficult adjustment in the beginning, having a third adult living in our 3 -bedroom home, but by the end of his stay I got so used to having him near me that it will be empty when he leaves. The third bedroom will eventually become the nursery, since the other room is little man's room. He is flying back in a couple of hours; I couldn't even take him to the airport because I've been out of the office last week so I have tons of work, so I'm a little sad. Just trying not to think about it too much.

This also means no more excuses why I'm not getting pregnant and the pressure will be back full force next month because we should have plenty of time to "get busy". So I'm a little scared, I hate the waiting to ovulate and the pressure to be in the mood on those specific dates and then the waiting for symptoms and checking your body every second. I know that God will give me a baby when the right time comes but I can't help but wonder why is now not the right time, why do I have to wait for so long, why?

I was reading one of the gossipy magazines on our flight back from Vegas and it was full of celebrity babies and happy moms. And, of course, Britney with her big tummy and her short skirt (you can't take the trailer park out of the person no matter how much money they have - is she really pregnant again for a third time?). And Angelina, looking so happy - it's difficult to believe she was the same person who said she cuts herself and French-kissed her brother. She just glows talking about her baby.

By the way, if you ever go to Vegas, do NOT stay at the Caesars Palace!!! We had such a bad experience there. We've stayed at the Palace Tower there before and were pretty satisfied but this time we were put in the Forum Tower, which is just a shame for a hotel of this caliber. Our room was very old, the carpet had a lot of stains and everything smelled of mold. The water pressure was horrible and there wasn't even a desk to put my laptop on. When we complained, we were told that for the price we paid ($195/night) that was what we got. We could upgrade to the new tower (Augustus) but it was going to be $75/night more. No, thanks. Next time we will spend our money in another hotel - there are plenty of good ones around Vegas. It's just not worth paying fore the Caesars name, so overrated!

Things have been super busy here, with work. I’ve been doing a lot of traveling, and it looks like I will be doing some more soon. I don’t mind it - I love to travel, see the world. However, it takes me away from my men! (Okay, so my child ain’t a man yet, but he’s still my little man!)

I have started thinking about what I want for Christmas. So many great things have come out. I would love a Nintendo Wii, as we finally have a TV suitable for one. I’m putting that at the top of my list for my husband! I also want the soundtrack to the movie Across The Universe. I just saw it the other day while out of town (we had some free time one evening) and it was just absolutely superb. I can’t get the songs out of my head! I’ve been thinking about it since I was in Chicago. I also want some knitterly things. Of course! I’d love for some Claudia Handpainted, pretty much in ANY color. I am LOVING the colors. So delicious. Have you seen that stuff? I think I want to treat myself also to a Sock Club kit, I’ve been eyeing everyone’s blogs and the colors are just superb. Oh yummy sock yarn. I can hear it calling my name. I also saw that Debbie Stoller came out with a new book; Son Of Stitch ‘n Bitch: 45 Projects To Knit And Crochet For Men. The man has been asking me to knit him a sweater….. before we were married I would have laughed and told him to go away, but now that we’re married, there shouldn’t be a curse anymore. Maybe this book has a good “man” sweater pattern?? I’m curious to check it out, I’ll see if the local bookstore has it the next time I’m in the area, though, I’m putting it on my wishlist. Maybe the man will get it for me for Xmas, and put little sticky notes in it with which ones he likes! Ok, now I’m just being rediculous! I have all the other Stitch N Bitch books so I definitely want this one. Too bad it’s crochet too, I’m just a knitter. I actually am quite turned off by crochet, I don’t know why, and I don’t have a reason why… so don’t ask!

Today is just one of those days. You know, when you feel like you’ve woken up on the wrong side of the bed?? Well, that’s how I felt, and it was my side of the bed that I did wake up on. Hmph! Because E woke up on his side… and yeah, you get the picture.
Anyhow, I think it all started when my alarm clock was set for PM instead of AM this morning. I have no idea how that happened? I never touch my alarm. So I have no idea how my alarm got switched.

Ok fine, so I’m late this morning. Whatever, right. It’s not as if it’s the end of the world. But then, standing outside for the bus, I get splashed with water from some damn SUV that drives by. So now I’m standing at the terminal and I’m soaking wet. Ugh. Hate that. My feet are cold now because my shoes/stalkings got soaked. Now I’m sitting here at work, and I look like a dufus because I’m wearing black shoes, with a pair of white socks (stashed from my desk drawer) and I’m wearing a skirt. Ugh. Hate that. I don’t want to move from my desk, because I look retarded. Royally retarded. Why does this happen to me?? Just not my day/morning. Really.

Ok, I’m going to see if my co-worker willl make me coffee because I don’t want to walk around in my shoes/white socks!

Wow wow, before you get all too "excited" about me wanting to get pregnant, this is just a thought that arose 2 years ago. My little man is getting older now, and I want him to have a sibling.

Aren't babies adorable? Well, exclude the changing diapers and puking milk and all other horrbile stuff. hihihihi. Imagine times that they let you cradle them in your arms, you cooing and the baby laughing...

Ohhhh....it is so sweet!

Anyhow, we're trying..... who knows how long it will take this time!

1. What is the one knitting accessory you could not live without?
STITCH MARKERS!
2. If you’re heading on vacation, do you take knitting with you? If so, how much and what type of project?
Socks are a good vacation project. Easy to transport and easy to take out anywhere to knit. And they’re great on bamboo for airport security!
3. Where have you travelled to that you’d consider your favorite spot?
Definitely Hawaii. Oh I long to go back. Maybe next year.
4. What is your favorite knitting book at the moment? Do you own it?
Fitted Knits & yes! Too many projects in there I want to make.
5. Do you listen to podcasts? Which is your favorite(s)?
I do not. Where can I find those?
6. If you could only knit with 1 color for the rest of your life, what color would that be?
that would have to be pink!

Frog. But I’d be soooooooooooooooooooo pissed. I guess it also depends on the severity of the mistake.

In court? Is that weird? I was summoned to duty, and was bored, so I knit.

I am not a fan of Acrylics. It gives me the chills touching it. I love sock yarn (sock yarn addict here)! I am not a fan of mohair, chenille, popcorn yarn, fun fur or eyelash yarn.
2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?
Plastic Ziplocks, lol… practical yet ugly.
3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I’ve been knitting just about one year & a half.
4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
Working on one. Will udpate when it’s done.
5. What’s your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products, etc.)
Vanilla, Watermelon, Cinnamon, Peach, Mango, Melon.

Not really a sugar fan, don’t eat a lot of junk. Love gum though.

I can sew, bead, and I don’t spin.

Delicious Yarn

I got some delicous yarn in the mail. I went to go pick it up, since I missed the parcel.

Now I need to get some sock needles. I had one set, but I lost one of the DPN's so I'll have to go to my LYS and buy another set.

Oh my lord, so wonderful the fibers. And they're from the Sweet Sheep, a shop I've been admiring online for a while now, browsing their stuff. They have such delicious stuff.

Now I need to go browse patterns!

I got these bunnies above - but all in pink. (I took the images off the Etsy seller's page, because right now my camera is busted - really upset about that. I should have it back next week in 100% working condition so the man at the shop says). You see, my purse got dropped, the camera battery door busted and that's where the memory thing goes too. So, I had to get it fixed so it could work. Cheaper to get it fixed than to buy a new one this time.
